Review by hotel critic
While there was some expected noise from the farm activities, it was not excessive and added to the overall experience. The cottage itself was super clean and had a very traditional farm cottage decor that added to its charm. the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bedding was fresh and soft, ensuring a restful night's sleep for all of us. What really impressed me was the fact that the owner had thoughtfully provided a travel cot and high chair for our 8-month-old, both of which were in excellent condition. the dishwasher was a fantastic amenity, and the provided dishwasher tablets were a blessing. the Wi-fi was reliable, which was important for staying connected during our trip. One of the highlights of our stay was the proximity to the Royal Oak pub and restaurant, just across the road from the cottage. We also appreciated the nearby Aldi store, which was about 20 minutes away and made it easy to pick up any groceries we needed. Despite being in a rural setting, the location was easy to find via Google Maps, and we enjoyed the tranquility of the surroundings. We loved seeing the horses, cows, neighbor's dogs, and even a couple of cats in the yard. Listening to the birds in the morning was a lovely touch that added to the overall peaceful atmosphere. In terms of activities, the cottage was a convenient base for visiting Alton Towers, with plenty of routes to get there. We did encounter some single track roads and cattle grids along the way, but it added to the adventure of the trip. the welcome gift pack of milk, tea, sugar, biscuits, and a bottle of fizz was a thoughtful touch that made us feel truly welcomed upon arrival. Overall, our stay at this farm cottage was a delightful experience for our family. the family-friendly amenities, such as the travel cot and high chair, as well as the proximity to great dining options and nearby attractions, made it a memorable trip that we won't soon forget. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway with their loved ones.
